Homecoming 1942-43
On February 19, the Senior Class sponsored the All-School Carnival for the purpose of selecting the Annual Queen. The candidates were Beverly Gaebe, Senior; Catherine Coats, Junior; Helen Piper, Sophomore; and Margaret Halpain, Freshman. When the votes were counted, Beverly was proclaimed the winner and was crowned the Queen of the Carnival. The other candidates and the Retiring Queen Jeanne Peterson-Weise acted as the Queen's attendants, and Carmen Neal, our Principal's three year old daughter, carried the crown. John Connors, Jr. who was home from the Navy was the trumpeter for the Coronation Ceremony. The Girl's Trio also sang two vocal selections for the Queen's entertainment. The Queen wore a white net dress and carried a bouquet of pink roses.
